By now we've had our Creative Hub open for 6 months!
The creative space is being well used, not only by us, but by others too.
This summer we're excited to be hosting a range of courses by designer/ maker Fflur Cadwaladr Owen. Originally from just up the road but now living in London Fflur's welsh roots are very evident in her work.
We're welcoming Fflur to the hub, running a range of different courses over the summer.
First up, on Saturday July 28th, Fflur will be hosting a free hand machine embroidery courses. Free hand machine embroidery is something Fflur uses a lot in her work as a maker, and this is a course we've been asked a lot to run.
Fflur will guide you through 3 hour workshop, working from an image of your choice, to create an embroidery piece. Teaching you the skills and craft of using a sewing machine and stitches to draw.
Possibly the course I'm most excited about! Something I know dog lovers will enjoy too... is the Leather dog collar course!
On Sunday the 29th of July you'll have the opportunity to join FFlur in creating a leather dog collar for your prized pooch. Made to measure (you'll need to bring the sizes with you) you'll create a paper pattern before choosing some leather to get making.
But wait! There's more! We have two more fabulous courses in August with Fflur too!
August 4th we'll swing open the hub doors for a leather card holder/ purse course where you'll learn the technique of saddle stitching (using 2 needles).
Last but not least, August 18th will play host to a leather jewellery course.
The chance to come and make some Bohemian Jewellery made from natural materials with tassels and hand-made elements which are all over the catwalks and high-street this summer. (perfect for festivals!)
We expect all of Fflur's courses to be popular, booking is essential and can be done through the links or by popping into the shop.
We're super excited to have such a mix of courses in our hub this summer and we can't thank Fflur enough for working with us. We hope that you choose to come and join in the creativity and supporting the handmade/ creative movement here in North Wales.
