We’re very excited to announce that we are expanding our team here at Glosters. We’re looking for two to join our team in January 2021, if you’re looking for a fresh start and to join a creative team please take a look at the details below and apply for either or both position.

Workshop assistant- full time

Location- Porthmadog, Gwynedd

Type- full time including a Saturday, initially national minimum wage to increase as the business grows.

Primary Responsibilities-

-Creating and glazing the popular & growing Glosters decoration collection. 
-assisting with the glazing of work when required.

-helping with the preparation of clay.

-keeping the workshop tidy and safe.

You will be responsible for making the Glosters decorations range as requested. This involves preparing the clay on our slab roller, checking inventory as to what needs to be made, creating to a high and tidy standard, glazing and decaling those that require.
We’ll need to keep a daily record in our production log to ensure we meet inventory requirements at busy times of the year.

It’ll be important to communicate with Tom, our head potter, with regards to designs for new pieces, any challenges there may be and to ensure we have the correct clay and glaze available for production. 
During open studio days you’ll be required to interact with customers about your work and the processes involved, we may ask you to assist with courses we have running also.

Requirements—

-Good hand to eye coordination and attention to detail.

-Clay experience is preferred but not essential as we will provide all training.

-Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a small friendly team.

-Willingness to work 40 hours a week over 5 days to include Saturdays.

The Job will begin in January 2021

 

Mug Maker- full time

Location- Porthmadog, Gwynedd

Type- full time including a Saturday, initially national minimum wage to increase as the business grows.

Primary Responsibilities-

-Creating, along side Tom, our head potter, the growing range of Glosters mugs.

-helping with the preparation of clay and clay reclamation.

-keeping the workshop tidy and safe.

You will work alongside Tom to create the range of Glosters mugs and beakers, helping with casting, fettling and trimming of pieces.
We’ll need to keep a daily record in our production log to ensure we meet inventory requirements at busy times of the year and for wholesale orders.

You’ll be responsible for creating a limited range of mugs every quarter known as Mug Club, this is an elite group of mug collectors and we like to give them something special, we’d love for you to be involved with the creative process. 

It’ll be important to communicate with Tom requirements such as clay levels incase we’re running out as well as any challenges you might encounter.
We pride ourselves on our mugs and so it’s vital we get this right person to help out, attention to detail is key in this role.
